The first time I met Danielle was at work. We worked at the same private school for two years. The first year Danielle and I worked together she was an assistant for the pre-k teacher across the hall. I observed her working patterns and that summer I requested that she work with me. Well, I was blessed, and my wish came true! Our Principal assigned us to work together and it only took a short period of time before we became best friends!!!
Our friendship grew when I got the most life changing news from my husband. In December my husband was granted an AMAZING job offer in Texas! He wanted to accept the position and have our family move back. I was so excited about this new opportunity and I could not wait to go back to Texas to be with family and friends. However, my husband and I ran in to a slight problem. I was contracted and teaching several of my college's children. I couldn't possibly end my term early, so in February he left for Texas and I agreed to stay in Virginia until my contract ended.
The day Cody (my husband) left was the hardest day of my life. When I saw Danielle at school I was crying and so was she!!! I knew then that I had met the most genuine friend! She was just as sad as I was that Cody would not be by my side for 4 months.
In less than a week Danielle became my roommate. We spent every Wednesday together cooking and watching One Tree Hill. Then our time together turned into not only Wednesday gatherings, but also weekend slumber parties. EVERY weekend Danielle would pack her bags and spend the night at my apartment.
It was during one of the hardest times in my life that I found my friendship with Danielle. During our weekly and weekend visits we learned so much about one another. We started going to vintage flea markets, watching Audree Hepburn movies, learned to sew, and even created our favorite McDonald's breakfast sandwich!!!
I am so lucky to know this girl!!! We have dedicated this blog to our growing friendship! Enjoy!
